Mission
Neoen’s Energy Management Team is looking for a VIE Energy Markets Analyst to join its Australian Markets team.
The Energy Management team is responsible for overseeing and optimising their bidding strategies in Australia’s energy markets, maintaining compliance with market & contractual constraints, and supporting Neoen’s future expansion plans. The team is defined by a combination of market expertise, advanced quantitative capabilities and software development skills.
Key tasks include :
Market Analysis
- Monitor and analyse market activity and market performances of our operating assets in the NEM and the WEM
- Assess market fundamentals and trends, including renewable penetration, curtailment risk, negative pricing dynamics, and grid constraint developments, and translate these into actionable insights for Neoen's strategy
- Deliver long-term power markets analysis, leveraging external data sources and developing in-house views adapted to the Australian markets
- Communicate analysis and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally
- Develop and implement tools to automate market monitoring, reporting and analysis tasks
Revenue modelling & Renewable development support
- Support Neoen Australia development teams in projecting revenues for future assets (batteries, wind, solar)
- Build and continuously improve internal revenue and merchant risk models
- Participate in offtake negotiations and valuation
- Contribute to the development of innovative business models (Baseload PPAs, Virtual Battery, Hybrid installations…)
Profil
The candidate will need the following experiences/skills to be successful in this position :
Technical skills
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Energy, Data or Computer Science
- Proficiency in Python, experience with version control (Git)
- Knowledge in constrained optimization models (LP, MILP) would be a plus
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in energy markets, power trading, market analysis
- Exposure to renewable energy (wind, solar, batteries) is preferred
Language
- Fluent in English
