Mission

Our Italian Business Development Department is looking for a Project Development Manager. Reporting to the local managers, you will be in charge of the development of a part of the portfolio of wind, solar energy and battery storage projects, from identifying the site to securing the land and the permits until construction starts. You will, first of all, manage the connection process  with grid operators and advise the team on the development of projects.

The main tasks include:

  • Capacity to maintain good relationship with: local authorities, at political and regulatory level, landowners, tenants and local communities
  • Coordination of all the parties involved in the projects (consultants, advisors, local authorities, grid companies, suppliers, etc.) and reporting back to the local managers
  • Monitorization of studies
  • Project scheduling management through activities definition, sequencing, resources, and duration estimation
  • Application for necessary permits
  • Submission of offers in the case of public or private tenders
  • Support the Construction and Asset management teams during the initial phases of the performance of the services
  • With the support of Neoen’s teams, manage all administrative aspects related to Neoen’s presence in Italy

The main tasks regarding grid connection include:

  • Provide advice on networks and connection to support new project identification for solar, wind and BESS projects
  • Technical exchange and communication with grid operators and certifiers
  • Preparation of grid connection requests and applications
  • Evaluation of technical connection conditions. Coordination and negotiation of grid connection contracts
  • Planning and permitting of substations, transfer stations and cable routes in cooperation with experienced consultants 
  • Provide support to the purchasing team during negotiations and tenders 
  • Ongoing analysis of the network, identification of the most attractive regions for renewable projects and support in strategy development
  • Analysis and contribution to the development of the market for grid-related services
  • Coordination of the certification processes

Profile

The candidate will need the following skills and experience to succeed in this role: 

  • Master’s degree in engineering or architecture, with specialization in renewable energy, environment or project management
  • 1 to 3 years of work experience in similar tasks,
  • Full understanding of the development, construction, and operational processes for solar, wind and battery storage projects in Italy 
  • Good knowledge of technical software : AUTOCAD, Office, Google Earth
  • Not mandatory but highly appreciated, good knowledge of other softwares such as PVSyst, windPRO, 
  • Solid analytical skills, strong adaptability, efficiency
  • Solid communication skills: capability to establish technical discussions in different cultural environments, ability to effectively interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluent in Italian and English, French will be much appreciated
  • Strong motivation to work in a complex environment; you are organized, open-minded and able to work independently; you are capable of working on several projects in parallel
