Mission

As part of the reinforcement of its IT operations in Australia, Neoen is offering a VIE position based in Canberra for a Systems & Network Engineer, with a strong operational focus on supporting Asset Management and Energy Management teams

The role is hands-on and business oriented, supporting critical applications, systems and connectivity used for the monitoring, operation and optimization of renewable energy assets. The position involves close interaction with business teams, local IT staff and Group IT experts.

Key Responsibilities

Operational IT Support for Asset & Energy Management

  • Provide Level 2 / Level 3 operational support to Asset Management and Energy Management teams.
  • Support systems and architectures used for: 
  1. Asset monitoring and performance analysis
  2. Energy dispatch, forecasting and reporting
  3. Operational and market related activities
  • Act as an IT point of contact for business teams, ensuring rapid incident resolution and high service availability.

Systems & Network Support (N2 / N3)

  • Support Windows and Linux environments in production.
  • Manage and troubleshoot network connectivity (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls).
  • Ensure availability and performance of systems supporting business critical operations.
  • Participate in incident management, root cause analysis and service restoration.

Cloud & Monitoring Projects

  • Contribute to Azure Cloud projects (integration, optimization and operational support).
  • Participate in the deployment, tuning and maintenance of application and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
  • Support capacity, performance and availability monitoring for operational systems.

Security & Operational Resilience

  • Contribute to the security hardening of systems, networks and cloud environments.
  • Apply security best practices in a critical infrastructure and energy production context.
  • Support incident response and remediation activities when required.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in incident, problem and change management processes.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and service quality.

Technical Environment (Non Exhaustive)

  • Operating systems: Windows Server, Linux
  • Networking: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN
  • Firewalls: Fortinet, Cisco (or equivalent)
  • Virtualization: VMware
  • Cloud: Microsoft Azure (IaaS, monitoring, security)
  • Monitoring tools and operational platforms
  • Business environments related to Asset Management and Energy Management

Profile

Initial professional experience in systems and network engineering

Strong operational and hands on profile

You bring:

  • Strong technical skills in Windows Server and Linux.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
  • Hands on experience with firewalls, VPNs and virtualization.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (infrastructure, monitoring, security).
  • The ability to work closely with business teams, with a strong service mindset.
  • Autonomy, rigor and operational reliability.

Professional English is required.
