Neoen Australia has a highly experienced team of renewable energy professionals across offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, and we are looking for a Project Manager to join the Queensland development team, who is committed to the energy transition and our company values.
Your role
Within Neoen Australia’s QLD Development team you will develop utility-scale solar, wind and storage projects from the site identification phase to the hand-over to our construction team. Your position will involve occasional travels to engage with all project stakeholders and include multi-dimensions engineering topics (civil and electrical design, connection, …), management of technical consultants and suppliers.
Your role will comprise the following objectives:
- Identify new project opportunities and secure relevant lease agreements ;
- Manage the Development Approval process, in coordination with consultants as well as local and state approval bodies ;
- Coordinate the Connection Application process to the transmission or distribution networks ;
- Manage relationship with landowners and the wider community ;
- Ensure the technical design is conform to Neoen standards and ensure the economic viability of the projects ;
- Bring support in the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) negotiation phase ;
- Assess, and participate in public and private tenders for the procurement of electricity ;
- Co‐ordinate all efforts required in order to proceed to financial close and commencement of construction on greenfield and acquired wind, solar and battery projects ;
- Hand over control of projects to Neoen’s construction and operations team upon achievement of financial close.
Profile
The candidate will need the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:
- Tertiary degree within relevant engineering (electrical, mechanical or civil) qualifications
- More than 3 years of experience developing large scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind and storage) would be appreciated but is not required if similar experiences in other industries
- Good understanding of dealing with local councils and relevant authorities
- Management of multi core engineering contractors
- Capacity of making decision based on results
