Mission
The IT/OT Technical Expert provides technical leadership and operational support across renewable energy assets and corporate IT environments. The role supports the full asset lifecycle, from design and commissioning through to operations, ensuring IT/OT systems are secure, reliable, documented, and compliant with SOCI and internal cybersecurity requirements.
Acting as a key interface between IT, OT, cybersecurity, construction, vendors, asset management, operations, and other cross-functional teams, this role ensures site connectivity, VPN access, assets monitoring platform integration , documentation, and incident management practices are effectively implemented and maintained.
The role reports to the IT Manager Australia and works closely with the Global IT team based in Paris, local and global IT vendors, and external stakeholders to deliver consistent, secure, and compliant IT/OT outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for IT/OT architecture, infrastructure, connectivity, and operational technology systems across renewable energy assets.
- Support asset lifecycle activities, including design input, construction, commissioning, handover, operations, and continuous improvement.
- Define, implement, and maintain OT cybersecurity requirements, including secure remote access, VPN connectivity, access controls, and monitoring practices, working closely with the CISO and cyber team.
- Support SOCI compliance during commissioning and operations, ensuring required controls, evidence, documentation, and practices are maintained, working closely with the asset management team.
- Coordinate site connectivity and integration with the assets monitoring platform and other operational platforms to support monitoring, reporting, and control room visibility.
- Maintain accurate technical and compliance documentation, including network diagrams, inventories, support procedures, access records, and compliance evidence.
- Provide technical support and escalation for the Operations Control Room and site operations teams, including incident triage, coordination, root cause analysis, and remediation tracking.
Profile
The candidate needs to have the following skills and experiences to be successful in this position :
- 6+ years of experience in IT roles with strong exposure to operations and service delivery, ideally in an industrial or energy environment, including experience with stakeholder management.
- Strong experience across IT/OT, industrial systems, renewable energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong infrastructure knowledge across enterprise networks, servers, Microsoft Azure, Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls, and FortiCluster high availability environments, with the ability to support hybrid IT/OT connectivity, VPNs connections, secure remote access, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational resilience.
- Good understanding of networks, infrastructure, VPNs, remote access, OT cybersecurity, operational support, and site-based technology environments.
- Knowledge of SOCI, CIRMP, AESCSF, or similar critical infrastructure and cyber compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across IT, OT, cybersecurity, construction, operations, asset management, and vendors.
- Strong documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to combine technical expertise with practical operational support, including incident response and escalation management.
- Fluent English is mandatory
